Insights Bereavement Service

Insights offer support in a safe and supportive space with friendly, trained volunteers.
Bereavement affects us all at some point in our lives. We need to allow ourselves to grief and give ourselves time to work through our thoughts, feelings and behaviour.
Maybe you are feeling lost and lonely, have lost your confidence being in social situations.
Maybe you want to talk to others that understand, although knowing that nobody’s experience is the same.
Maybe you feel, although often supportive, that family and friends don’t quite understand. Being listened to can be of great help.
We no longer offer a one-to-one listening service or telephone support service but you can still share these feelings with other by joining one of our groups. You’ll receive a warm welcome and they offer flexibility in attendance and are free, apart from asking for a small donation towards refreshments.
Please look at Groups for more information and how you can join us.
This lovely quotation sums up how we might experience grief.
“We think that the point is to pass the test or overcome the problem, but the truth is that things don’t really get solved. They come together and they fall apart. Then they come together again and fall apart. It’s just like that. The healing comes from letting there be room for all of this to happen: room for grief, for relief, for misery, for joy.”
